evemu-tools software package provides Linux Input Event Device Emulation Library - test tools, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install evemu-tools
evemu-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the evemu-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep evemu-tools *
You will get with evemu-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
